Though the P Family's parents live here in TX., their kids live in NY. So when they all came in for a visit, they grabbed the opportunity to get their family portraits done! Knowing that there would be 12 people in the shoot, I wanted to do something different. We were so fortunate to use these whimsical hand-painted chairs by the amazing artist, Basya Grinshtein Benshushan!

The A Girls
I love that these sisters did a girls only shoot without their other 5 brothers. Girl Power. Sisters are a very special thing and these girls reminded me of that.

Noah
According to the Torah, when a boy turns 13 he needs to keep all the mitzvos (commandments). One of these 613 mitzvos is to wear Tefillin. Teflillin are to be worn by men everyday to remember the exodus from Egypt. Within the Tefillin are the four passages where this commandment is specifically instructed in the Torah. They are also the most visual achievement of a boys Bar-mitzvah and their wearing at this time is a source of great pride for the bar-mitzvah boy as well as his family. Congratulations to Noah and his dear parents who I know quite well. His father was not only my English teacher in high school but has been a role model, good friend and a huge source of inspiration for me in my life.

G Family
Its not everyday that you meet someone with your name, especially not an Elisheva. I was ecstatic to do this shoot in beautiful Stuert, Florida and meet this sweet little Elisheva and her parents.
